Great food, awsome service.

Can't beat the Kalbi here. Comfortable, sitting environment with plenty of room and reasonable wait times for great Korean BBQ. Everything you expect from a long time local favorite establishment like all Kimchee restaurants.

Great food here, the kal bi got more expensive however same great taste as always and great to take the whole family!

Sorry, but this is the first Korean restaurant that the prices were too outrageous for the amount you get. Plus my meat jun was cooked in dirty oil at high heat. My father in laws food came out just about the time I was finishing mutt dinner. Guess they had to go to the store and buy shrimp. The tea cups were strained and the place is cramped. Won't be going there again.

Got the Fish Jun combo..was BOMB!!!! Really cool retro decor, very nostalgic..staff were really friendly and the food was great..the kimchee could use a little more tang though. Definitely goin back for more..thanks guys!

I have a special fondness for Korean short ribs and have had Kal Bi from Chicago, Sacramento and San Francisco. I can’t speak to anything else on their menu, but this place makes amongst the best Korean short ribs around. Imagine one of those TV show episodes where they feature an unassuming, older locale that you perhaps would not have considered going into on your own, but they did and tasted the food and were impressed. This is one of those places. It may not be the full package to those looking for a photo opportunity to add to their vacation postings, however, I feel the food is good enough to push to that fifth star despite that. Hidden gem in the rough.

Wasn't sure how much and kind of vegetables to get for 100 people as a side dish. They were very very helpful in suggesting the size and advised getting a combination of cabbage and bean sprouts which they said was very popular. Well, it turned out perfect and was enjoyed by all. Thank you. Amy M.

Great family tradition

My friends that are from the mainland are seriously addicted to the Kalbi, not the L.A. Galbi. The original Hawaii style. The come and eat it every time. I order the Combo 1, a little of everything. Yes and I eat it all. lol Not a typical Korean Restaurant, the banchan is take and not spicy at all. Good food overall, great service. Food takes a while but worth the wait. You can't go wrong.

The Kal Bi is awesome! They have both styles, and it is charred to perfection over an open flame grill. So juicy, and so ono!!

I've been coming to this restaurant for over 30 years. It has spoiled me for other Korean restaurants and has been the "bar" for other restaurants to live up to. It's my "Cheers" restaurant fair when I walk in, the owners know my name (and order). Lol

Been coming here since High School, grandchildren now in Intermediate School and it is still great, one of the go to places when we get back home!!

THE Best Kim Chee Restaurant on this island is Kim Chee 2! Our family loves the kalbi, meat jun, fish jun, chicken katsu, bbq beef, & the fried mandoo! Don't forget to add the purple sweet potato mac salad to your order- it's so yummy! And you can never have too much of their special dipping sauce- it goes perfectly with everything on your plate!

Food is okay but place need to be renovation. Also bit pricey comparison to amount of food they give.

Kalbi and Meat Jun Good, Kim Chee and Daikin good and refills available. Free tea. Mandoo soup was horrible, the Mandoo wrapper was raw and still sticky, the inside was mushy and tasted of rancid oil. Do not order! The soup was okay, but the Mandoo spoiled it.Paid parking in the lot which gets crowded on weekends.Some nice servers, some nonchalant servers. Polite just not friendly. Decently attentive though.Place shows its age.

Recently visited this family owned restaurant for delicious Korean food. They did not disappoint. The food was of good quality and seasoned to taste the Kalbi flavor. Lots of side vegetables, mac salad, and the ono specialty salty kim chee. Take the family or just a friend. The whole family works the business and has a comfortable feel. Our go to for a good family meal when they visit from the mainland. Take out orders are also an option. Mahalo nui loa!

Great family owned restaurant passed down between generations. Although my friends may call Jimmy Korean Elvis, it is because he is very charismatic and entertains everyone while they dine.

Locally family owned Korean food restaurants. As you know Korean food is not cheap, but the price here are in line with other Korean eateries. Never had a bad dish here, plus it's a BYOB place, can't go wrong. Good place for big gang get togethers. Located on Waialae Avenue and parking lot is behind of restaurant.

The staff are local top notch grinds was ono Mahal for a killah lunch.

Fish Kats is terrific. We ordered the kalbi (big bone), mundoo plate and fish katsu for five of us to share and we still had leftover. Big portions, tasty and great service.

Best food ever

I grew up eating at this place... and out of ALL the Kim Chee restaurants on the island this is the best one!! Love the food, service, and family orientated restaurant!! They also make the Best Meat Jun on the island in my opinion!!
